Preface
This book is a story. It is a story of friendship in the land of windmills and clogs, of dikes and tulips, of flower fields and of liberal values—the Netherlands. In my three years as Ambassador of Pakistan to this wondrous nation, I set forth on a journey to promote a broader vision of projecting the soft image of Pakistan in the Netherlands and of promoting understanding and harmony, all in an effort to bring our countries and communities closer. With the help of my Dutch friends and the Pakistani Diaspora, I helped organize a diverse range of socio-cultural activities in an attempt to bring this very vision to life.
It was an effort that turned out to be a highly satisfying experience, and indeed a story worth telling.
